Antarctica

South Georgia

& the Falkland Islands

01

"If Antarctica were music it would be Mozart.
Art, and it would be Michalangelo. Literature, and it would be Shakespeare.
And yet it is something even greater; the only place on Earth that is still as it should be.
May we never tame it."
-Andrew Denton

The White Continent captured my heart when I first sailed there aboard the three-masted Bark Europa in 2014. I since worked on many voyages to Antarctica, the remote sub-Antarctic island of South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands. In addition to my work as an Assistant Expedition Leader and sea kayak guide, I also helped support conservation and research efforts conducted by organizations including Oceanities and the South Georgia Heritage Trust. In 2016 I sailed south of the Antarctic Circle for the first time in my life. Stunning scenery, extraordinarily vast landscapes, and incredible wildlife encounters-- from charming penguins to fierce leopard seals-- define these wild places at the ends of the Earth.
